Why a software engineer publishes vet prices

I'm a software engineer, not a veterinarian. That's the whole point of how this site works.

Most pages about what a procedure costs hand you a range with nothing behind it. I have no clinical judgment to offer, so I don't offer any. What I can do is collect real prices, record where each one came from, and refuse to publish a number I can't trace back to a source.

Every price here is a figure a real practice quoted, charged or published, tied to the clinic and the state it came from. The raw data behind each guide is on the page as a CSV, so you can check my arithmetic instead of trusting it. Where a figure comes from a study, a teaching hospital or an insurer's policy document, the page says so and links it.

What this site is not

This is not veterinary medicine. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for talking to your vet. Costs vary by clinic, by region, and by the specific animal in front of the veterinarian.

How this site makes money

I intend to earn affiliate commissions from pet insurers, which is a reason to be skeptical of anything I write about them. The affiliate disclosure states which relationships are live right now. That page is the current answer, not this one.
